Hi and welcome! I am so happy to have you here. My name is Nance and I was first taught and attuned to Japanese Usui Reiki in 2018 and then went on to receive my Master Teacher attunement and certification in 2020. What led me to become a Reiki practitioner was my history with chronic illness, severe anxiety, and complex trauma. When I went looking for alternative methods of healing to support the current treatments I was receiving, I discovered Reiki.

My experience with Reiki has significantly improved my life and my hope is to bring this type of healing to folks that need some extra support in their life. The world we live in at the moment is filled with a lot of pain + suffering on an individual, systemic, and collective level. It is my hope that we can move through it by learning to listen to ourselves while also acquiring resources that help us to befriend + regulate our nervous systems-promoting the healing of our body + mind. I feel that each of us holds the medicine that we need, recognizing that sometimes it is hard for us to see this, especially when we are carrying so much pain + grief. I truly hope that I can share what I’ve learned and be a light that helps illuminate this path for others.

My practice is trauma informed meaning that I promote a practice that is rooted in the safety, empowerment, and healing of my client above all else. My sessions will include a Reiki healing portion as well as other techniques that we can explore together. I am also certified in Integrative Somatic therapy and will use somatic practices in session for those that are interested-making sure to focus on helping you to explore different ways to feel into your body and providing resources to help you integrate these techniques. I will also incorporate my own embodied, intuitive approach making sure each step of the process is a collaborative one.

I have provided sliding scale prices in hopes to reach more people, trusting that folks will pay what they are able. I also plan on having specials often and you will find these through my Instagram, which is linked at the bottom of this page. If you are in need of a Reiki session and are unable to afford my lowest price, please reach out to me at yellowrosereiki@gmail.com. And if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at that email as well. I am here to help and be of service as much as I can and am so honored that you are here! Thank you so much for your support, sending each of you so much love + I cannot wait to connect with you!

What is Reiki?

Reiki is an energy practice that encourages an overall balance of the body, mind, and spirit. It can help promote and enhance the body’s ability to heal itself, reduce pain + stress, and can help increase wellbeing, balance, and relaxation. Although Reiki does support wellness on physical, emotional, and mental level, it is not a replacement for but a compliment to traditional medical and mental health treatment. You do not have to be spiritual or religious to receive or practice this method of healing, the only requirement is an open mind.

What to expect during a Reiki session?

You could experience many different sensations during the healing session which could include: a tingling sensation of the body, a temperature change, a floating sensation, an emotional release, calmness and/or relaxation. These experiences should never be uncomfortable in any way, if they ever are please let me know immediately. It is of my belief that the body is highly intelligent and will always move in the best and most supportive way towards healing.

What is Somatic Therapy?

Somatic Therapy is a type of therapy that focuses on the mind-body connection and really aims to center the body + body awareness in healing. Trauma impacts the body in many different ways, dependent on the person and their experience as to what those ways may be, and this type of therapy can be especially helpful for those who have experienced PTSD or CPTSD. I also want to add that I feel this type of therapy could beneficial to those who haven’t experienced trauma but are looking to connect more with their own body.

Some examples of methods I use are: breathwork, intuitive body movements, yoga, and tapping. Also an important reminder- if you choose to work with me please know that you always have a choice whether or not you’d like to implement this type of therapy into our sessions; I am solely here for you.

Important disclaimer: I am a trauma-informed Reiki and Integrative Somatic Therapy practitioner, meaning I have been certified in both. I also bring in and call on my own life experience as a CPTSD survivor. I am not a trained medical professional nor am I a therapist. Reiki healing is not meant to replace regular medical, psychotherapy, or substance abuse treatments. Please continue to consult with your mental health + medical professionals.
